...and stumbled upon unique design!

Singapore is certainly one of Asia's most vibrant cities and

home to some of the best modern architecture.

~Take a look at what I saw this morning:

there're several similar design scattered among the nearby property.

They have become part of the landscape...& wonderful public art sculptures!

.

...upon closer inspection (cos' I'm a nosy tourist like that!),

I think they actually housed some kind of 'machinery'...errr electric generator perhaps?

All I know is that it has this soft strange;

"brrrr-brrrr-brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...." -noise!

.

whatever they are, certainly add more interest+CHARM* to the city landscape...

~Wonderful [Father's Day] Weekend*

Let's leave my 'Singapore post' for today & pay a visit to my dear father!

Some of you may already know that I come from a 'dysfunctional' family...

(some extremely polite people may just call us 'eccentric', but let's face it;

we're one dysfunctional bunch!). Anyway, I took these photos when I

went to visit my parent's house before I left for Singapore.

Let me introduce my dad...in his favorite space,

far-far away from my mom! a.k.a his home office.

(It's actually the lining of his pants pocket....sticking out!)

~such a stylish statement huh? should be the next fashion trend for this season...

and he would sometimes go out with that 'thingie' sticking out like that too!

Let's just call it his trademark...shall we~

my father is such a neat & tidy person...NOT!!!

On a good day, we can actually see a lovely desk underneath those piles!

(trust me, it's somewhere there!)

He buys almost everything in multiples...

because 4 or more of the same book is better than just one?!

Doesn't that sound quite familiar...errr moi ???

I'm saving the worst for last!

How can one find anything around these mountains?

...and that computer screen, is circa 1980s~ vintage!!

well-well-well...

as you can see, he doesn't throw much of anything away...

border-line hoarder? ( just like who else...me!!! )

as much as I hate to admit this,

I think I truly have become more & more like my father!

It's reported that it was the worst in this country

since 1984 & it happens that I am here to witness it all.

Thank goodness no fatality, but losses likely to be in million$!

That's about USD $10 ~ great deal for hairless armpits huh?!

Soccer/football is HUGE here! (anyway...I adore how colorful the papers here are!)

Just like most countries, the aging population is a big topic...

I can relate as my parents are getting there soon.

from a cleaner to a star~ being cute always helps!

If I were the judge, I 'd like to sentence the greedy smuggleres...

I would let these tortoises bite the smuggler's nipples off. ~OUCH!!!

( ...so sorry to sound sadistic! But this kind of story really angers me!)

Obituaries continue to somehow remind me of the short cycle of life on earth...

So Far So Good...

Hello-hello everyone!

I have arrived safely in Singapore~

The looong flight was pretty smooth & the best news; no missing luggage! ~woo-hoo!!

'home away from home' for the next 10 days...
