tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-
tap-tap-tap-tap-ting*
There's certainly something about that sound!
~Does anyone remember?
The rhythm of the taps & 'ting' of an old typewriter...
The springy keys beneath one's fingers &
the smell of the carbon ink ribbon!
I miss the sound...sure brought some fond
memories of my late grandparents~
Here are some vintage Ad campaign from the past...
...So Charming~

I wanna watch an episode of "Mad Men" now from this post. hehe. Cute! I've never actually written on a type-writer. Hmmm..I might have to put that on my a To-Do list.
ReplyDeleteLove these! So cute! My favorite is probably the last one, so colorful ;)
ReplyDeleteI remember type class in HS ! I sucked still do I always have to look. My techi teen is so fast can type in the dark.
ReplyDeleteasdf ... jkl;. love these ads and the typewriters they have on mad men.
ReplyDeleteCathie is so rockin' that green typewriter! I adore these, Lenore! We own a few vintage typewriters, and they are among my favorite possessions. Man, typing back in the day really gave you a workout! xoxo Gigi
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I still have a friend who types me long letters, and every week, I race to the mailbox in hopes of finding an envelope filled with typewriter font enclosed words! So nostalgic - the typewriter and reading a personal letter on paper!
ReplyDeletei looove that about a typewriter.
ReplyDeletewell, the ads are still working on me b/c i want them all!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I love this ad campaign -- I'm so glad you found it and decided to share. The rhymes are so cute! I sometimes do a little typewriter ding as I work on my computer. My boyfriend makes fun of me because I used a typewriter when I was younger (until about fourth grade I think).
ReplyDeleteahhh, i do love that sound! but i've never personally had one of my own.. neither has my family! :(
ReplyDeleteHello Lee-lee, I'm back!
ReplyDeleteI would so love to have one of these vintage typewriters to type out my poems a la Plath.
I never took typing in school, but with all the keyboarding I do now, I'm a veritable kitten on the keys!
How I would love to shoot for such an ad campaign! Hope you're well, and had a terrific Thanksgiving... -R

ReplyDeleteHurray! Hurray ! Hurray !
Three cheers for the ads.
So sweet. These are a trip. I love the sound of those keys.
ReplyDeleteEveryone should have one of these - just in case we run out of electricity. Does anyone remember all those layers of different coloured copy paper? Painfully laborious, though curiously pretty...
ReplyDeleteYeah, i remember too. I've learned typing from a Maryknoll sister at school. ffjjffjjffjjddkk------ :)
ReplyDeleteI should have kept my first Olivetti.
The nice thing about typing class when I took it was that the computer keys were quiet so you could cheat on the daily quiz :0
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for sharing some wonderful memoriesss...~Ting!
ReplyDeleteMel,
Wow!...you have such an interesting friend! Hope you keep all the letters~
Homemaker Man, you are too funny...good thing you weren't expelled~
Aw the people in the ads look so scholarly.. I think I would love to have a type writer if we didn't have computers! I always wonder where you find such awesome pics to share with us :)
ReplyDeleteEven my electric Smith Corona, bought for college in the 1970s, still *dings!*
ReplyDeleteI prefer my computer keyboard to have a special sound. If it doesn't sound right, a specific click, I don't like to type on it.
ReplyDeleteI looove these images! I think it'd be fun to have an old typewriter.
ReplyDeleteMy mom had one of those. She was always taking college classes so I remember the sound very well.
ReplyDeleteThese are very cute little poems and ads. I love the old ads so much more than the flashiness and almost naked-ness of the ads these days. I love the feeling of typing on a typerwriter, i'd love to get one.
ReplyDeleteI used to love typing on the old manual typewriter. Of course, we never had such a marvelous choice of colors.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous find!! So Mad Men-esque!! Love it!!
ReplyDeletelove love love!
ReplyDeletelove this! i have the one that millie has! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a few typewriters in my home for decoration and I'm so tempted to tap away! :)
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my first job at a Church Rectory typing up certificates of marriage, baptisms and confirmations... such stress!! Mistakes were a big deal :)
