Happy Good Friday Darrrlings!

They're certainly very preeeeety...
a.k.a 'so cuuute!!!'
... Step into any store lately and we'd see the colorful ‘Easter-Section’. Cards after cards & decorations have the same kind of images...adorable Bunnies, colorful Eggs galore! And also greetings like “The Joys of SPRING!” Well, for any secular holiday, I might have to agree. But not when it comes to this Holy-Day I think. Sadly, there's no mention of Jesus, nor any Bible verses...is it because that would be politically incorrect?! ~errr-errr??? Check out what I discovered from my own research~ehem-ehem* Well, on this topic the dictionary certainly has it right. The Oxford English Dictionary defines Easter: “the festival of the Christian Church celebrating the resurrection of Christ, held (in the Church) on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox.” The Miriam-Webster Dictionary: “a feast that commemorates Christ's resurrection and is observed with variations of date due to different calendars on the first Sunday after the paschal full moon.” errr...just saying here, I just think that all Easter cards or celebration should contain Christian themes no??!
.
Just a small reminder that the 'Easter Bunny'
did not die for my sins! ~whahhh*

~Perhaps I should watch 'The Passion of the Christ' again...
to remind myself what Easter is all about. Then, sit down
to a lovely dinner of rabbit stew to drive home the point!
[ just kiddin'~bunny rabbits are just too cute to be eaten! ]
.
" Happy Easter to those who celebrate
...& a Glorious Weekend everyone! "
~XOXO*

  5. I love that first photo... so stunning. As for Easter, it kind of falls under the same category as Christmas. Marketers will capitalize on it anyway they can but it's up to the consumers on how they choose to celebrate it.

  10. It is sad that most people don't know the true meaning of Easter. How it evolved from a day to remember and appreciate Christ's death and resurrection to a day for the Easter bunny to bring candy, toys and all the rest is astonishing.

I'm glad you took time to bring up the real meaning of Easter.

I haven't watched the Passion of Christ mainly because my husband thinks it's will be too graphic. I've tried to convince him that we need to see how horrible Jesus' ordeal was so we can more fully appreciate his suffering, death and wonderful resurrection. Maybe he'll listen to me if I bring it up again. If not, I'll watch it alone.

    Happy Easter, Lenore.

  16. You know, it's sad that you can't find any "happy day that jesus rose again and cleared all of your sins" cards. Everything has gotten so PC. So "Happy Day that Jesus Died and Rose Again!"

  19. Lenore, a lovely post, beautiful images and sentiments. I love Easter for the food, family gatherings, memories and decor but mainly for my faith and religion and my deep love for Jesus. Its what I believe in and that belief gives me strength and hope. I spent my Good Friday morning at church and will go again on Sunday to honor and respect the true meaning of Easter.
    Have a wonderful weekend

  20. Happy Easter girly! Thank you for reminding us on the meaning of this special holiday.. that it's a celebration of Christ's resurrection, not just a day to buy cards, candies and bunny things!

  21. Happy Easter, my dear! I would love to be stuck under that tree of eggs -- especially if they were full of fun little things. My favorite thing about Easter has always been the time spent with family. I think the best way to celebrate the holiday is by celebrating love.
