Old vs New

Over the weekend I was exploring the island and was so thrilled to stumble upon
this scene from 'Old Singapore'...was instantly CHARMED*
Such an extremely rare sight to be captured these days! You know...
old buildings/shops continue to be replaced with new developments in here;
Singapore is one rapid changing developed country!

~take a look at the new Singapore:

~Woweee...Amazzzing view right?
Certainly anyone would marvel at the obvious progress!
However, I feel somehow a little sad that 'change is inevitable'.
The original 'old charming Singapore' scenes are almost gone...or going?

  5. Incredible pictures! There must be pockets where the 'old life' is surviving, no? It would be sad if all the traditional things just disappear. xoxo

It always makes me sad when we lose the character of the "old." Yet I so thrive on the excitement of the "new" too. Hmmmmmm, dilemma.

    Fantastic photos my dear!

  8. Looks amazing.
I feel less and less like moving with the times.
Think I'm turning into an old fogey.
And may I say again - thanks for sharing your trip.

  9. Amazing pictures. I know how you feel with the old vs. new. I feel the same with New York.

  11. Nice capture of the "Old Singapore". It's a beautiful, bustling city! Though I do wonder if the older generation feels a sort of sadness sometimes about modernity...

  14. Holy moly! That's a whole lot of electricity! I don't think we have any cities that can compare in the states...we are quickly becoming irrelevant.

  25. i love the old parts of the city when i travel so much more. they have charm that newer architecture doesn`t.
it`s still cool looking but just not as special as the older part!!

  26. I'm a real sucker for a twinkly sky line, but yes the old needs to be preserved too I agree.
