Julianne Moore for Bulgari~

~Do you know... Venice, Italy has banned Julianne Moore's Bulgari Ads from being posted in the city! (source:Telegraph UK). The photos show the beautiful 'nude' actress covered up by lion cubs, Bulgari handbags & jewelry. The Mayor claimed that the images are wayyy too racy & inappropriate for St. Mark's Square. I thought some of the old Italian paintings & sculptures found in Venice can be quite 'racy' as well no?!
.
.
Oh well...
all I know, those lion cubs are simply adorable!
...and I really-really want to squeeeeeze them !!
~Now that we've seen the images in question,
what do you think guys?

  1. I think these are tastefully done. People will always be in an uproar over something. I also read somewhere she is not entirely nude though yes the shots are quite revealing!

  5. I think that they would be a welcome relief from the usual mobile phone and credit card ads that seemed to be all over St Marks last year

  10. Any time I learn of political censorship - particularly of advertising art - I am saddened. Still, I'm encouraged that these ads utilize fine art photography. Yay for Bulgari, the timeless and classy Ms. Moore, and BOOOO for Venice.

  14. I enjoy the ads and think people are too uptight. Also, I want a lion cub. Now.
    That is all :)

  15. That first picture didn't even look like her!
I think for a magazine ad, they're fine. But for a billboard, maybe a few more cuddly lion cubs...

  20. Venice Italy of all places! I love these photos of Moore - they're beautiful, not distasteful! (I mean, if they run in the NY Times, that old establishment paper...)

  21. That's ridiculous! I agree with you - some of the art found throughout the city is far more racy than these ads! But when I was there I learned that Venice didn't even acknowledge Casanova as being part of their history until several hundred years later. What gives!

  23. SAY WHAT!!! No way should these stunning images be banned. She is gorgeous and the cubs are to die for.

  24. Surprising... sounds more like something that would be done in America...

  25. What a strange idea to ban one of the few aesthetically pleasing ads. Plus, beautiful Juliane says she was never really in the nude while the pictures were taken (is that a bit like Clinton never having inhaled?)

  26. they really aren't THAT racy. cripes! those prudish italians!

and i want to lounge around and play with those cubs!

  27. oh I think those are lovely photos, I cannot believe that she is 49 years old o.o she's beautiful! but those cubs are just toooo cute <3

  28. I think they would fit right in!

  29. Oh yes!! :0) We have a tiny Bulgari store in Sydney here with the divine Ms J and cubs in the wndows - I stop and press my nose against the glass for a look every time I pass! As for banning it? Odd I think! When they have people like Ciccolina as a PM and Belosconi running around...!
