BROWNIES

... Ahhh... the smell of leather... Forget smelling for a minute and take a look at Rosa Mosa, a leather collection designed by the Austrian designer Simone Springer and Japanese designer Yuji Mizobuchi. The two designers met when they attended The Cordwainers College in London. Sticking to their design philosophy of converging tradition with innovation, all Rosa Mosa products are made by artisans just outside of Vienna, using time-honored craftsmanship in creating contemporary items.

“We think ourselves as laboratory of playfulness and innovation, therefore we do not treat materials the way they are normally treated. We discard their function and disclaim their memories. What remains are the materials in its purest state, a sort of archetypal module or ‘ tabula rasa.’ From there we begin. Only this way we are able to apply our often unorthodox treatments. The results are multiple mutations, filtered and gathered. We experiment, innovate; we don’t follow fashion – we push forward," the designers explained during an interview with Fashion Window Paris.

They also said that the shoes are a little bit ‘raw’ and that's what makes them beautiful… Their approach is highly conceptual, very contemporary, achieving unusual effects with leathers and tweaking traditional silhouettes for a look that's totally modern... Nice yummy brown leather indeed...

  1. LOVE the smell of leather; definitely an aphrodesiac.

Know what else I love? The feeling of leather gloves on my face... this probably goes back to my childhood when my grandma wore them in the winter; soft brushed leather... she would put her gloved hands on my cheeks and kiss the top of my head; to this day I think it is a very comforting feeling - a very comforting memory. In London 10+ years ago, my mother put her gloved hands on my face and kissed me, "Happy Birthday" - that is when the memory returned...

Mmmm... leather... if only our climate were better suited for it; aside from saddles that is. *wink*

    Happy Friday to you!

  3. I'm definitely ON. Tan, brown and leather then I'm in heaven.

the lace up boots? I wouldn't buy them unless they had size zippers. :) That's one of those things that I would go for practicality. Beauty only goes so far when it comes to footwear.

  5. When I read your title I supposed you would talk about cake LOL

What can I say... I'm against fur and sometimes leather, but I'm not a fundamentalist, as I'm not in many things, it's just my way. I'm not pretending to be right.
I accept vintage (after all the poor animals are already death)and I accept some leather pieces.

    Cool pictures dear.

And don't forget the cake.... LOL

Have a blessed weekend, and enjoy your time.

    xoxo

  10. I can't wait to get them and wear them!! :) Thanks.

As for your question, I lost count. It's terrible (this shoe addiction) but I can tell you, I have one entire closet just devoted to shoes, and my larger (walk-in) closet is for clothes, bags and accessories.

Btw, I'm a fan of leather, especially the new smell. And brown leather attracts me like bees to honey. Great choice!
