*My Last Blog Post for 2010*

" parental " ~ 2010 by Lenorenevermore
...and also my last artwork done for this year!
.
Hello everyone!
~Ready or not the New Year is finally (almost) here!
I'm signing off a bit earlier to get ready to fly home soon.
Hope you've enjoyed all my Tokyo posts lately...
promise to share more photos when I get home-sweet-home*
Anywayyy...
.
Isn't this a fabulous cover for the January 2011 Town & Country?
Simply Lurrrve...the top hat worn with the gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown.
Notice this latest issue features 'Pastry Tour of Paris'? Yum~ I'm getting a copy!
and now, it's time for some inspiring tunes :
.
.
.
.
I wanted the very traditional 'Auld Lang Syne' for this post
...but instead
I've chosen the great Stevie Wonder earlier songs for you to enjoy.
Such lovely lyrics for the New Year, yes?
He was only thirteen years old when he sang them~ such a talent!
Notice the 'Happy' in all the song titles?
And of course Mr Wonder-ful himself!
~thus;.
" Have a WONDERful 2011 and
HAPPY New Year Everyone !!! "
(my-my-my...I'm so corny as ever & proud of it!)
.
~XOXO*

Another window VIEW-ing ~

I've always admired the great baroque still life paintings of the 1600s.
Truly enjoy observing their incredible lighting and all the small details
on the subject matter. I think the window display at Dolce & Gabbana
in Tokyo, is trying to achieve the same aspiration this season...
~take a look everyone
.
What a glorious spread of fresh flowers & food display!
almost forget~ ...and those Dolce & Gabbana evening purses too!!

The Morning VIEW ~

My work project here in Tokyo is almost completed!
We worked long hours until very late at night...finally went to bed at about 2 am.
Since there was no appointment set up for the next morning, I didn't turn the alarm clock on...
Instead, I was awakened by squeaky noise outside the hotel window!
" Eeeck!!! who's there?!
.
"well hello there! ...good morning window cleaners! "
errr...good thing I was not in my birthday suit!
.
There's nothing like a clean spotless window!
~yessssss...
[I'm so easily pleased, huh?]

" Excuse me...Do you like to Complain ??? "

.

.
... I'm not a strong believer in making tons of promises or any New Year's resolutions, which we all know will never be kept anyway... But must say that I may consider making a serious resolution this coming Year! I'll try my very best not to complain too much! And when I do slip & complain,,, apparently I can do it in a tune or make it into musical production! ~Yup, just like these folks who joined the Complaints Choirs worldwide! I think they should have it in our nearest zipcodes, no? Lurrrve this inspiring & fun movement which started in Helsinki!
.
More about the Choir : It all got started during a cold winter day walk of Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen in Helsinki. Perhaps it was due to the coldness of the day that they ended up discussing the possibility of transforming the huge complaining people into something else. Perhaps not directly into heat – but into something quite powerful! Meanwhile, several Complaints Choirs have been initiated by many people around the world!

PS: The older lady at 5:32 in the video is so cute! LOL*

Shape-Up*

Hello Everyone!
~Hope you had a wonderful Holiday weekend?
Our business client was kind enough to invite us to a lovely
and scrumptious Christmas Brunch here in Tokyo.
So very gracious of them!
Let's face it, so hard to keep a healthy diet during the Holidays, right?
The amount of entertaining we had to do lately, plus
all my travelling schedules for the past one month...
(Paris-Milan-now Tokyo) gaining weight is quite inevitable!
Definitely takes much longer for me now, to put on & zip my skinny jeans! LOL!
Anywayyy...
To my own surprise, I braved the cold & decided to go jogging this morning.
Have I told you how much I hate-hate exercising?!!
.
Confession :
errr-errr...it was more like sashaying
a.k.a leisurely strolling down the blocks from my hotel!
,,,But guess who I met along the way???
.
I wasn't the only one who're trying to keep in shape today...
pretty sure these adorable doggies burnt more calories than i did!
" Do you gain weight during the Holidays? "
Please say you do, so I can feel better ~whahaha...

~XOXO*

excuse me...do you recycle?
.
What a unique Christmas tree!
...created out of recycled plastic bottles!!
Another wonderful moment discovering new things while being abroad.
[stumbled upon this creation near the busy Shinjuku Station in Tokyo]
Anywayyy...
since we're in this topic, might as well
'recycle' a few of my last year's Christmas blog posts...
perhaps some of you might have missed them?
You may click* on the links here :
.
Although at the present moment I'm so far away from home, family & close friends, my spirit is still filled with JOY everyone! Yup~ still my favorite time of the year, and most importantly the celebration of Christ's Birth (woops-I tend to forget sometimes!). I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have peeked into Lenorenevermore Blog & who have given me a peek into yours as well. " slurrrrrrrp..."

.
.
...Anyone watched this funny movie clip before?
It's from the 1992 'Mr Baseball' starring Tom Selleck.
Yes, the Japanese do slurp their noodles here, but keep in mind...
this Hollywood clip exaggerates it of course, for more dramatic effect!
Anywayyy...
My colleagues here in Tokyo, took me to this Noodle Place for lunch recently.
I had the delicious Japanese noodle/Ramen in Miso base soup.
Yup, it's so true...I heard a lot of slurping going on in that tiny noodle place!
From what I was told, slurping is really encouraged here in Japan.
It is actually a good sign for how much you appreciate and enjoy the food.
.
" slurrrrp...
...slu-slurp ...slurrrrrrrrrp ! "
[ I am definitely a fast learner! ]
.
A bowl of hot noodle was a perfect meal
on a cold winter day...so comforting ~YUM!

.
.
" so...what do you think guys? "
It's quite Tim Burton-esque, no?

Night & Day...or should I say Day & Night?!

The street along Omotesando in Tokyo is quite 'Blehhh...' during the day.
But it's absolutely a different scene at night... It comes Alive!!
Perfect time for another photo opportunity to share ~click-click-clicked*
.
Feast to my eyes!
Must be millionsss...of LED lights!!
.
Omotesando is a popular street and local neighborhood of Tokyo.
Perfect venue for people watching too!
In addition, it is a shopping districts where hundreds of high end and
affordable shops exist side by side, we can find museums and galleries as well.
The entire street is lined with tall Zelkova trees adorned with lights this season!
.
...Dazzling, aren't they?
Certainly set up to fill many hearts with more Christmas Cheers!
...Ready?? Just a few more days till Christmas everyone!!

~XOXO*

"Guess What everybody..."

This year, I won't be singing the above Christmas Carol!
Cos' I simply must extend my stay here in Japan.
Yup, continue to work I simply must!
Oh well...spending Christmas in a foreign land isn't really so bad.
Tokyo is actually an amazing place to be during this festive season~
I spent late afternoon in this place:
[ errr-errr...what work right?!! ]
.
Lurrrrve... the evergreencoveredrooftop kiosks at Roponggi Hills in Tokyo !
~much more attractive than the usual snow I thought.
Anywayyy...
" Will you be home this Christmas with your loved ones? "
Oh dear... I miss home suddenly! ~sob-sobs*
