TARTY TARTAN PARTY

No R.S.V.P required

" Darrrling...let's bring out the Fruit Tarts for

our TARTAN theme party...

The guests are arriving soon dear..."

no more waiting it's finally here!
Christmas that is...

hmmm...a fabulous party theme...

Textile seems like a boring subject to some, but with a fascinating past and innovative new emergence...boring certainly is not! The Scots love their tartans and they do take them seriously. They began naming and registering official clan tartans way back in 1815. Each clan has at least one distinct tartan with a unique sequence of colors and shades that are used for kilts, ties and other garments. The good news is we don't need to be a member of any clan or even have one Scottish DNA in our body to wear and enjoy today's fabulous tartans. Plaid, ginghams and tartans were splashed all over the ready-to-wear runways. This trend seems to have not lost any momentum for the past years in the fashion world. I have friends who, after spending their early years in Catholic or private school uniforms, say they would never, EVER wear this pattern again… Not even that famous Burberry print. But of course, not all of us feel this aversion. Some of us look at all the plaid in the Dolce & Gabbana ads in the fashion magazines and feel our hearts fluttering... Yes, tartan and plaid are extremely popular this season but that doesn't mean you have to look like a walking blanket nor a private school kid. For the faint of heart, perhaps just add a touch with a scarf, hat or handbag….even underwear?! For the more daring, well who knows….tarty tart from head to toe!

yayyy... it's finally here Christmas darrrlings!

they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.
Then they opened their treasures and presented him with giftsof gold and of incense and of myrrh. ~Matthew 2:11
.

The Bible doesn't say for sure where they stayed but most people think that they stayed in a small barn where animals were kept. The king of kings, Prince of peace Jesus, wasn't born in a fancy palace... Mary and Joseph were thankful that they at least had a place to lay down. It was warm, and there was plenty of straw to lay on...
.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said to them,
Fear not: for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born today in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger...
.

" amen !!! "

" your move ladies......"

with pleasure... C'mon girlsss...

move it girlsss....jingle it jingle all the wayyy!

no silent night, YES to Holy night darlings!

As we continue our journey to the end of December...we’re coming to terms with the fact that certain holiday dreams, goals...will remain unfulfilled yet again this year, such as that ever-elusive plan to throw our own Christmas Theme Party! I always have the best intentions, but years of hard-won procrastination skills paired with an impenetrable lack of ambition and what else...recession!!! I think putting the empty gift boxes tied in pretty Tartan ribbons beneath the tree will make it seem like such a Christmas of bounty that we’ll forget all about the recession... A fantasy Tartan BLOG Theme Party will be the best kind of magic so I don’t have to worry about anything...especially buying yards and yards of Tartan fabric...One day....one day I shall have a real one! In the meantime I am throwing this BLOG theme party...and also celebrating this Christmas with another good ol' tradition...with the usual message of faith which is--
.

Immanuel, "God With Us"
.
May you all have a magical, wonderful, memorable Christmas! Thank You for you constant kind words and for visiting LENORENEVERMORE -truly grateful for all of your friendships DARLINGS...

Tartan is the perfect winter fabric. I love the look of it and it reminds me of my study abroad days in Scotland. It's funny how Tartan really didn't become popular until Sir Walter Scott started prancing around in one in the early 1800s!
