DIG TRENCH !

Temperature continues to drop...
Fallen leaves have been gathered for the compost pile...turning to
black-gold in Spring next year...perfect food for the earth.
.

and out it goes, my favorite thing... strong,
reliable & dependable... Where is this man these days?
oops sorry...I'm not posting about MAN but coat... Trench Coat!
Men are still in Planet Mars anyway...more on him later...
.

When clothes, hair...or hat, make up, even the perfect-not so-perfect day,
the knowledge of its fascinating history and all its nostalgia-
...all interact to create the perfect mood for me...in their splendid loveliness...
.

It's also water proof...its process fascinates me!
all the information I found and learned simply thrilled me...
Perfect for singing in the rain or 'trench' kiss...Who needs an umbrella
when a man can stop a busy traffic to give a huge smooch!
...either romantic or dangerous, lovely combo nevertheless!
One crucial tip though; water proof mascara...
but again tell me where is this man... only in black and white movies???
.

knowledge is power...and the smell of books turns me on...can books be sexy?
Well...they are! Financial crunch for new books?... simply visit the public library or
stay home, deep condition-ed our hair and click to wikipedia.org key word: trench coat
...and click-click away!
Clicking sound on the keyboard is quite sexy too...
wearing thick cozy socks is cozy warm... not really sexy but who knows?
sorry... I'm in this 'sexy' kinda mood...hee! Yet again my thoughts can go random!
Right...finally 'winter khaki coat' and 'sexy' together, in the same sentence...
Pop the champagne shall we???

.

Sexy vintage print? Just in case someone asks...we'd know the answers to what is what...
the real serious/crucial question is actually ' to belt or not to belt buckle? '
hmmm...whatever it is,
I simply love vintage prints and I'm sticking to that story detective sir!
.

This number is in leather...leather is sexy...ahh the smell is irresistible...
(but not the smell of leather or hide factory though...that's real funky! Be WARNED!)
I'm full of contradictions...aimless aren't I??? -please don't answer that...
How about luxurious cashmere lining... or even soft fur lining, fabulous
Don't call Peta on me please...
.

Do you recycle?
Vintage Trench coat - cum messenger bag...quite clever!
..

...recycle and go green...errr khaki! Earthy...
.

...salvaged, recycled bags available from Ouno!
.
.
Such CLASSIC !
strong, smart & masculine...(last call; 'where is he??? The man!!!'
Oh yes, I remember...still in Mars! come back to Earth! Venus wants you!)
.
yet feminine...effortless style yes?
Throw it over the shoulder, Mikimoto black pearl studs and call it a day...simple and no fuss
besides the 'to belt or not to belt buckle' dilemma??? No need to pull our hair over this...
Life is full of mysteries sometimes! Why buckle???
Ahhh yes... old spy or detective stories always have a character in a Trench Coat...Pink Panther wore one, so did the beautiful Audrey Breakfast at Tiffany's Hepburn... and in a dark alley somewhere there is also a dirty-horny man who flashes...uggh! or hmmm?!
.

Whatever it is, everyone really has different things that can cheer them up. For LENORENEVERMORE it is a trip to farmers market or long slow walks in
the forest...(with or without Red Ridding Hood...she is quite unpredictable!)
...for me it's always the simplest...errr, a trip to Hermes shop isn't bad either!
NOT vacuuming the carpet though! It's simple...but let someone else handle
that task! ...t+ask = ASK!!! ask someone that is! ...and yes my favorite simple humble coat is out and about... trench coat...dig it?
.
What Cheers You Up These Days?

I've been wanting a trenchcoat for a very long time now! But first I think I'll have to wait for spring to come..

what an interesting post with sooo many great pictures of trench coats! =D haha i love the vintage print one... never knew there were so many parts to a trench coat. spending time at the public library/on the internet checking out fashion stuff IS a great way to save money... but then it makes me yearn for more shopping! This is a great post! I love your stream-of-consciousness style.

wearing thick cozy socks can be sexy..just don't wear much else!

:)

Also, I love that messenger bag, so much!

What cheers me up? Hmm..
dogs,
cafés,
bookstores,
farmers markets,
and, like Annie, gin doesn't hurt.

I love the classic trench with the collar turned up for warmth. Pair that with some dark, oversized sunglasses and you have the makings of Audrey Hepburn running through the rain. Well we can dream can't we?

I'm a late-comer to the Cult of Trench, but a life-convert now. Mine is a $12 thrift store job, but it's a little short in the sleeves. Might have to replace it! LURVE that cheeky diagram.

I truly dig the trench! I have a dusky pink trench with puff-sleeves (Alena Akhmadullina), leather floral trench (Dolce&Gabbana), silk & cotton (around 4 Burberry's, they're GREAT!), so many! I definitely love my coats, and trenches are my absolutely favourites! :)

Digdigdig trench as well. Black or very dark grey (coming from the male perspective) is what I prefer on both men and women.

Ecru and beiges work more so on women but trench is where it is at regardless of the color.

good call & post fashion detective!

;)
