Funny thing- I was just thinking about making a couch fort last night! I'm never too old for that or Jell-o.

The brother who was still at home when I was little use to assist me in my couch fort building. When my mum wasn't home we would take the "good" cushions from the seating in the front room and combine it with the sofa in the family room and make a super fort. My brother would even grab the hair dryer, turn it on cool and my couch pad had air conditioning.

It was excellent.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

lol! I used to do this too, meeeh very nstalgic!! awesome post, and i was planning on writing a story, thinking of a name for my female character. I ended up with Stella Lenore, and I thought of you right away, now I know what Lenore means :3

Oh yes, Lenore. I don't think we're ever too young or too old to enjoy having our own space.

All of the photos are so cute. I especially like the little girl with her book.

I'm such a terrible mommy... I purposely chose a sofa with no removable cushions bc I was so tired of replacing them all. Now we just have to drag out lots of blankets and chairs. Same creative mess, but not quite so often! :-)

There's nothing quite as much fun on a rainy day as a good fort! I used to love it when I was little, and now I love building them with my little'un!

Oh dear - I hate to be a wet blanket, but this post has transported me back to the time my elder brother 'imprisoned' me in the convertible sofa - he was mean.
And let's not even talk about the time he tied me to a door !
Scarred for life !
(I mean emotionally, and I'm only half joking):)

I LOVED doing this...in fact a few valentines day ago my then boyfriend, now husband made a huge fort in my room and set up candles, with wine and yummy snacks and it was so romantic. these photos make me want to build a fort...i make little ones for my kitties sometimes...hee.

I told my boyfriend the other day: we are SO building a pillow fort when I get home. He agreed. My roommate and I, though, may create a giant tent in our living room. All we need are sheets and lots of pillows.

These pictures are fantastic. I'll definitely have to follow through on my plans.

I still love forts or cozy little spots. catching up on all the bloggeroos, hope you survive this monday dear lenore. :)

Aaaawwww, nursery days are one of the most fun!!! But if I were there, I would also sneak under those pillows and have fun, not thinking of how old I am. Nobody's too old to have a little fun, right :)

oh yeah, been there. as much as fond the memories are with my cousins it also reminds me of a dreadful moment when our makeshift "casita" or little house of sheets being held by a big and heavy mexican piggy bank fell on top of me when the sheet was pulled and got me a black eye, ha ha, it is funny now, but hurted back then. still happy memories. thanks for bringing them back, i think, lol.

happy weekend.
