BROWN SUGAR

..

... Coffee anyone? Coffee BROWN that is… the next color destination for LENORENEVERMORE. When people say something colorful they generally mean the bright primary colors; the blues, yellows, reds - bright rainbow colors - they seldom mean brown - but I'm here to sing praises of that color… (believe me you might not want to hear me sing…I ain’t Diana Ross! …hee!) What springs into our mind when I mention brown? To many people this means a piece of chocolate… dead leaf compost, or if you're being less generous or charitable, the result of something's digestive tract after it's been eaten then flushed? hee!!
Anyhow, hope we can take a look and you'll see the real beauty of brown subtle shades… rich aromatic coffee, exotic tan Tandoori spices, yummy European chocolate, luxurious sable, soft copper, russet auburn and sepia… how about pleasantly-burnt caramel… Personally it’s the olive browns & camel color that I would sing to! Well, well, well…doesn't that sound nicer than just plain brown? …a real beauty without a trace of rainbow on it… Let us embark on this journey and let humble yet rich browns into our life shall we…

I love the earth-shattering elegance of the Louis Vuitton browns... and the sort of brown that happens to the soil just after a summer rain... that for me is a very poetic brown.

Go brown!

Oh yeah! I am all about the brown (well, after black). Good choice!

You might not want to jettison that pink so fast, though. It goes great with brown.

so pretty (sans the bowel humor! ha!!! funny lol) And fittingly, I'm wearing a tan shirt dress. I bought it for the simple fact that it's tan so there's that nude affect...

yes, let's explore!

ps. I live on coffee so I loved the intro to this post, esp the first one! xo

I happen to LOVE brown and I wish I could show you a picture of my closet right now to back up that statement. I have brown hair (though I haven't seen the real color since sometime around 1990 or so) and brown eyes and brown makes me happy. It goes with everything, at least in my rule book and that includes navy, gray, black, green and pink. I think I've worn something brown every day this week. Thank you for bringing attention to this oft overlooked and under-appreciated color.

I've tried and I've tried with brown - and it simply doesn't work for me.
In theory gorgeous and life a damp squib.
However, I love your blog.

Oh yeah, I adore brown. Maybe too much I think. Most of my clothing is brown. So now I'm thinking of some cheerful colors to brighten up.

Yes, it does seem therapeutic doesn't it?
After we reflect on ourselves and think about the things that makes us happy, who we are...

I was only on the east coast: NY, Boston (Concord! So pretty) last year.

I love brown colours. I don't understand why they are seen as boring. I find them very flattering especially as eye make up!

Brown is one of those strange colours that I avoid in favour of black or grey, for some reason. I really should embrace the brown more!

Especially rich chocolately ones, yum.

I love brown everything. I'm glad that the next colour is brown after pink. I'm definitely a brown/black person.

Seoul is a cool place. It has some wonderful traditions. Super high tech. Food is fantastic - variety is utterly amazing and most of all shoppers' heaven.

Brown--it's like the soft, warm neutral (even though that's an oxymoron). :)

Ummm, I love it. If I can't have coffee (I'm off coffee at present), I can at least have shades of coffee for aliment.

Oh yes I always dislike how people forget that hello, even colors like brown, black, gray and white are still, well COLORS, they're just a little less loud usually. ;)

And this post has made me think about chocolate... I wish I had some here! :P

I concur that brown is underrated. A nice rich brown can be great, especially with the right skintone. People need to remember, it's about how the clothes look ON.
