-The Trishaws in Singapore came into use in 1914. These were termed as "pedal rickshaws". Trishaw is also known as a cycle rickshaw, velotaxi, or a pedicab. It is driven manually by the driver like a cycle. -Black & white pic by Martin Liew

Much better than being pulled by a running man like in the old days! How fun that would be to put the pooches next to you & petal around ;)

Fabulous! And from Singapore. Why don't I know what your job is, Lenore??

I haven't been here for a while. Whacking own head. Missed you, but see you've been up to all kinds of the same interesting mischief. Happy happy travels dear.

Wow, I'd love to be your passenger (as long as you're doing the pedaling). It's like a sidecar for a bicycle!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm so happy you did because it was a chance for me to discover yours--a fantastic place of life and wonder! Saw rickshaws like this on a trip to India and thought they were crazy, as in crazy good. I loved seeing children bouncing around in the back of them!

This looks like fun, and a great workout! You've given me a giggle, picturing the 5 pugs riding along in the back ;)

Fascinating they still have these around! Rickshaws were banned from so many countries, but then again, this version is much more humane. They have modern-day versions of these throughout Europe (mostly students riding these as a part-time job).

Loved those photos from the jewelry shop by the way. Hong Kong was the same way... people always invested in gold and I was actually given gold coins on my birthday occasionally as they wouldn't lose their value.
