FURIOUS CURIOUS

.
.

What is the difference between tree-hugger and tree-sitter?
... Instead of trying to do some actual goodness for the environment some are merely or simply seeking attention?? Are they considered themselves activists??? LENORENEVERMORE is curious & a little furious... just a little perhaps...hee!
Yesterday, the last tree-sitters finally descended from the majestic old tree after 21 months of occupation and making the tall Oak grove at University of California, Berkeley their so called home... Their hope to stop construction of a new 125 million dollars sport center had been cut down to pieces. The tree-sitters and some protesters were arrested by the police...very dramatic scene I'm sure...
Many... or majority I would say, did not sympathize with those tree-sitters at the end. Finally,42 old majestic trees had been cut down but the campus had promised to plant three new trees for every one cut down, which I thought was quite commendable...
But what does all this boil down to? I'm sure there are deeper issues at the first place on both sides of the coin so to speak... But the tree-sitters still puzzle me, are they a bunch who had too much time on their hands or are they consumed with much responsibilities to save those majestic trees? Just imagine, almost two years... they had made those tree tops their temporary homes!
LENORENEVERMORE has a problem staying at a shopping mall for more than two hours! heehee... Perhaps this is passion and rebellion gone slightly more to the dark side of madness? I don't really know for sure...really! LENORENEVERMORE still finds that within that close to two years time period, the so called 'activist' could have done actual good for the environment instead of seeking the negative attention...giving a 'bad name' to those actual activists who are really honorable and define the true meaning. Hope we all can continue to hug any majestic trees whenever we feel like it... don't have to feel 'silly' doing it... think wisely and act wisely. Continue to do our small part for our home, the earth daily... to grow each day just like the majestic tree , shall we...

Since we are in the topic of trees, let me share one of my favorite artist, CAMILLA ENGMAN.
Her work is hauntingly beautiful... this talented artist grew up in a small Swedish town named Trollhättan. This is where she began looking at life from a perspective that most of us see only momentarily, and just a few are able to record. Camilla practised her skills at the Dome Art School and later at the School of Design and Craft, Gothenburg University, where she acquired a Master of Fine Arts degree. The good news is that we can acquire most of her arts through her web now...click HERE for her web.

I agreed with you Lenor...these guys just had too much time....24months...could do so much and they just wasted all their times sitting up on a tree.
