NEW COLOR

... What's your favorite colorssss... and why? ...Heehee! No...This is not another 'contest' from LENORENEVERMORE... Anyhow, It is quite clear that colors seem to mean different things to each one of us(unless one is color-blind...). Color acts as more than a symbol... may even affect some one's mood and behavior... we've been conditioned blue=boy! and pink=girl! But color psychology(yes, there is such a thing!) is the study of the effect of color on human behavior and feeling. Some psychologists even see this field as a type of "alternative medicine", as there isn't very much scientific evidence supporting their beliefs... Those who believe strongly in color psychology, known as color consultants, believe that most people seem to have the same emotional reactions to the same colors; despite their symbolic meaning. They claim that red colors are viewed more as "warm", while blue and green are often viewed as "cool"...hmmm... "warm" hues are viewed as active and exciting...yayyy! And have been shown to increase body tensions, while "cooler" hues are known to be soothing and passive, supposedly releasing tension...ahhh...

Color consultants are also known for their experiments with rooms painted different colors and the responses they receive. In some studies, shown that weight lifters performed better in blue rooms, babies cry more in yellow rooms, and pink rooms have helped to calm down prisoners(pink jails? how Barbie!). Likewise, red has been shown to increase appetite and motivate action(no wonder love tomato sauce, strawberry, ketchup with fries! but again I love white vanilla & green tea ice cream...all rainbow food! I don't discriminate, yay!), green creates a cozy and fresh feeling (love green grass, jut not mowing lawns!), and blue calms and relaxes(love my blue jeans!). While questions have been raised about the accuracy of these "new" ideals, they are not so new. Ancient civilizations also believed that color influenced behavior, and the ancient Chinese, Egyptians believed in Chromotherapy, or (color in healing...)
However, while these studies may seem accurate, results of a color having a universal effect on a group of people have been inconclusive.

Important to know that the effect of color is more culturally symbolic than it is psychological. People feel and react to color based on how their culture has taught them to react, thus debunking the experiments. One thing is for sure... there is much more to color than meets the eye look at these pictures above! Color is something that is all around us, yet most of us never think twice about the direct/indirect effect it has on how we perceive things. Once you really start to pay attention... it is clear that certain colors mean different things depending on your location and cultures... So what color turns you on & off ???... NEW LEAF

...We hear or speak of "turning over a new leaf..." but do we actually put it into action? It is a term or idiom often used and refered to; making a new start... It is used to describe changes in personal behavior which are made with the goal of being a better person... after all we are all still 'work in progress'...."under construction" hee! From the sound of it, we perhaps may think that this phrase is more related to freshly budding leaves...lovely greens in the spring, which carry a pleasant image of renewal and fresh starts. But it's officially Fall or Autumn season now... leaves are changing colors very soon the air is getting cooler...gorgeous! Anyhow, Why not...why wait til Spring season...why wait until each change of season...or the most common one; "I'll start next Monday" heehee... So why not turning over new leaf daily... How about the dreadful New Year's resolutions... another form of turning over a new leaf which I am guilty of breaking, with people vowing to make changes in their lifestyles which are intended to be beneficial. People should vow at any time of the year to make changes in the way they treat others with the goal of making their living or working environments more pleasant, or to change their attitudes in the hopes of getting along better etc... to sum it all up, we simply need to start daily by renewing of the mind first... and hopefully the action might follow... Have faith that we can actually do it... the scripture says that faith without action is dead... hmmm...
LENORENEVERMORE believes that any time is a good time to turn over a new leaf, and that there is always room for personal improvement. By carefully examining one's relationships and present behavior...personal inventory check so to speak..., sometimes it is err...always-always possible to find an area for improvement which could be addressed by turning over a new leaf daily Shall we...

Oh dear...

... It was just a couple days ago that I was rambling about being bored blahblabla... Well, all I can say is that boredom has definitely gone out my (French!)window... for now at least... and now replaced once again with my usual innuendos... Firstly though, I would like to thank all of you who had taken precious moments to write and responded to my 'lack of attention'...previous post: "the game!". The scripture says; 'ask and you shall receive...', well, I'm sincerely flattered and so-so honored by your kind generosity and overwhelming response & support... On the same note... I am starting to feel the pressure... Is there such a thing as "good pressure"? The saying; 'Oh yes...I work best under pressure...Blahblabla' ...not LENORENEVERMORE here, I've realized now that it is just not part of my...mmm 'lifestyle'? Almost like a balloon perhaps, I need just the right air pressure, just the right amount so to speak...slowly & gentlly... not too fast & too full... or I would burst... POP!!! (is this another one of my 'cry for help' ? hee...) I am certainly NOT Perez Hilton with millionsss of readers... but have to be honest here... I'm still just tiny-tiny bit overwhelmed... (is that the right word? I don't really know anymore???)

My brother is a man full of understanding and wisdom, so I contacted him and as usual rambled my way in... One of the wisest, understanding and articulate man I know just simply said, " You are weird!" (well-well, isn't he a joy?!). My dear mom on the other hand is in her current obsession with 'play of words'... she is in love(obsessed?) with any word that ends with '-ble' ...her conversation seems to start and end with anything '-ble' (possi-ble, capa-ble, adora-ble, laugha-ble, avoida-ble, impossi-ble etc, etc, etc... -ble-ble-ble all the way through...argh!!!) May I just say; ANNOYING-ble! (hee!) What can I say... Told you before, my family is quite eccentric and some 'rude people' may even have the audacity to call us crazzzy! Anyhow, life goes on and so does the beating of the rhythm(what!???), love, love, love.... my music! It's always there and always available! Perhaps...there is where I should go next... First thing first, I really need a break... like my fellow blogger from TheAtrialResident would say... get going, go for an emotional vacation! Is there such a thing? really...??

On related note, I feel like I am turning into an old mule(I wish it was 'muse' instead of mule...hee!)...who is feeling her blogging of 2 years errr... 2 months only!!! ...my readers/visitors has grown beyond my expectations... so grateful really am... Thank you all...sincerely thank you! ...To the 'older' generation...errr I mean more 'experienced' blogger out there, do you ever get a bit overwhelmed by it all though? Let's sit on my front porch, drink some cold sangria or hot cocoa or whatever... and have a chat about it shall we...? Any good advice out there?? But really, is a few days without posts unacceptable in this Blog world? I don't know....??? Alas... I think I have been struck down with BLOGflu-type thingies grounded and batched together with added inside 'pressure'? ...all this required immediate 'medical' attention and hopefully a drop of la-la-la...music every hour or so... and hope that the right 'dosage' will soothe my mindl...(which is beyond confused...at the moment )

SPEAK EYEs

... Before finally departing and say my bye-bye to the 'Fanplastic' Barbieland, let me indulge myself with an 'art project' to call my own... As some of you might already know, besides spending my time with 5 of my adorable K9 babies... or doing ice sculpture and cake decorating(yeah right! hee!)... I found a new hobby by doing some of my creativity on the computer... So here they are...(I'm going to start taking 'sale orders' very soon...hee! just kidding!! hmmm... Etsy.com here I come???). Anyhow, you know as they say; " the eyes are the windows of our souls...". Well, as I was doing this project (a monumental 10 minutes project, hee!), I was looking at her eyes and was fixated by them... after much of pondering later (as in another 5 min max, hee!), I somehow felt the sadness in her... the eyes are saying, " don't hate me because I'm beautiful...I'm not that happy...". Her eyes seem to say; 'I'm lonely and sad...please comb my synthetic blonde hair...' I guess it's quite true that we can somehow tell a person by how their eyes speak...they speak??? no wonder Miss Tyra Banks always tells her models, 'speak with your eyes girls...yes! speak with your eyes' ...oops now you know one of my guilty pleasures... alright,alright... I watch ANTM on the tellie, Tivo actually ...hee! ...I think I might stare at the mirror later and start practising...heehee ( I'm just dangerous like that!). ... The artist is CHRIS JORDAN, the art work is entitled 'Barbie Dolls'. This master piece depicts 32,000 Barbies, equal to the number of elective breast augmentation surgeries performed...ready?! ...MONTHLY!!! That's right, monthly in the US in the year 2006...I don't have the right 2007 statistic, but I'm pretty sure the number had risen even higher each year...and 2008 who knows! Whatever it is, LENORENEVERMORE is so astounded by this statistic... is our society obsessed with perfection, perfect tummy, butts, face, breasts...perfect-perfect everything?

Surely for the few reasons people choose not to have plastic surgery, there are also one thousand and one reasons why women (or men?) elect for it. Perhaps we all deserve to like ourselves, and often that begins with liking how we see ourselves??? Is the real question perhaps; why are some people more interested in seeing some so called perfect model rather than going to the polls to vote???

Just put those statistics and numbers aside... and we can still clearly see that most of us still have low self esteem issue and are still not happy in our own skin. Perhaps we still have the ' Only If ' syndrome...if only my breasts were fuller, larger or higher then our life would be happier or better... more FANPLASTIC!!! ...then later on, we would proceed to "If only I did not have the wrinkles I would feel so much better" and so on......(remember the song, "feeling nothing more than feeeeeeling..." hee!). Honestly though, I sometimes still struggle with saying, "I am happy being me, in my own skin, I am happy with what I have..."... but I have to admit that I'm proud to say, "I am still work in progress" ...hopefully progressing to a better place where I would NOT have my priorities mixed up...yay! ...Ok vote for me to be the next elected president....heehee! Nah.... my body won't look good in those boring suits.... ooops! Well, what did I tell you... still work in progress...work in progress dear... heehee! Continue to progress, shall we...

Sometimes we do forget that they are real people just like you and me(only 2' taller, hee!)... with our own demons, fear and insecurities... (not according to Barbie tough...she is always in her own perrr...fect super fan'plastic la-la land...hee!) The stage, the cameras all the glitz and glamour, fabulous clothes and make-up are merely just part of this wonderful world of fashion which I trully love and enjoy... But at the same token, let us not forget that they are creating and selling a fantasy...a 'dream' so to speak. LENORENEVERMORE is constantly reminded that "helooo...wake up to the real world!", and not so called 'Barbie world'... heehee! But you know what, why not create our own fantastic world...filled with our own love and joy... continue to dream and also to build our own dreams... Shall we... ... That's right girlfriend...even parts of your plastic-fantastic body are now works of art b...tch! heehee... Who doesn't have this love-hate relationship with Barbie right?! I remember the first time I got mine...loving her and there were also those moments when I chopped off all her synthetic hair...screaming my lungs out, " I hate you bimbo! I hate youuuu!!! " and dumped her in a toilet bowl. Well, I think I was dreaming of becoming a world famous hairstylist then...hee! Ahh...what a sweet innocent child I really was...hee! I'm doing a Barbie now, hee!) makes these fantastic jewelery from many parts of Barbie dolls. LENORENEVERMORE likes the surreal and sometimes quirky jewelery. Anyway what is fashion without a little bit of whimsy and fun...yay! The artist herself describes her art work as "wearing the body on body". Fanplastic!!! ... So charming... LENORENEVERMORE visited 'What I Saw Today' blog recently and was instantly ...charmed! Fashion designer Richard Haines literally draws some of his inspirations from the street... as he puts it; 'A visual record of cool stuff guys wear...and other things that inspire me'. But instead of taking photographs like everybody else (ala the famous The Sartorialist or Facehunter), he draws his subjects and posts them on his blog. What a talent and so-so inspirational! Charming indeed... Will definitely look forward for his next posting... Ahh... fashion, always changing how can we ever get bored...hee!

... Good thing is that my temperature isn't rising with anger anymore...forgiveness is the 'F 'word I'd like to use these days, amen! Anyhow, here is another designer, CHANDUK KIM. I always admire a designer who uses familiar-ordinary objects and recreate them into something new and modern. The designer described this thermometer light as not only for its function... also not merely just a purpose for beauty... When the light is turned on, it gives off heat... The hotter the light gets, the higher the red line goes up. And the light of the lamp itself becomes red gradually. He explained there is also a message about the global warming issue; too much energy in today's modern society. Thermometer, light, function, global warming message and symbolism what else can we ask for... right?! Can anybody count the number of how many thermometersss... are there in this piece...?
