Journey Home - Part IV? (oooh...why not!)

Proceeding on board the flight after a brief transit in Hong Kong.
Destination : home sweet home!
"...errr my stomach is growling "
Let's enjoy the fine dining experience in the sky~~~

" Excuse me,
can someone peel me those grapes pretty pleassse..."
It's nice to be pampered once in a while, huh?

John Pawson & His Visual Diary

One of my favorite architects, John Pawson is also a great photographer!
[ refer to my previous post ]

~isn't it so inspiring?
In a life spent almost constantly on the move, John Pawson is always looking for
patterns, details, textures, spatial arrangements and coincidental moments
that can inform his work as an architect and designer.
Since acquiring a digital camera, he has amassed over 200,000 snapshots.
The anthology of nearly 300 images in his latest book has been carefully culled from
this massive visual diary. His book, 'Visual Inventory' will be available in March 2012.

Journey Home - Part Three

Extremely busy & crowded Hong Kong International Airport during my transit here.
Perhaps the fast-paced Samba tune would be the perfect background music for the scene!
But once I entered The Wing (Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge),
the tune seemed to change to Enya-esque! ...so soothing & 'meditative'.
~Let's take a tour inside:

Such unrestrained relaxation & tranquility ~exhale...
I truly admire the tactile texture, natural light and the empty-Zen-like space,
Somehow, the empty space seems to 'communicate' more than the space that is filled up
with furniture. This minimalist interior is by the renowned British architect John Pawson.
He is definitely a master of minimalism. You can view more of his project designs on his website.
His Calvin Klein flagship store in NYC & the peaceful monastery in Bohemia are my favorites!

Journey Home - Part Two

Welcome aboard!
More delightful fresh orchids...
This time, courtesy of Cathay Pacific Airways.

In first class cabin, we're given a cozy private roomette in which
to sit, lie down, sleep, watch movies and dine.
errr...sometimes I pluck my eyebrow in there as well! ~TMI!

This time, I skipped the fine dining, movies & eye-brow plucking!
...instead I was trying to catch up on my beauty sleep!
The colorful lighting in the cabin is quite pretty, yes?
Everyone definitely looks prettier under that pink-glow! (please pardon my vanity!)

,,,I woke up to a brand new day!

" excuse me...are we there yet? "

descending time + glorious sunrise view from above~~~heavenly!

Smooth landing in Hong Kong International Airport.
This is not my final destination~ what?!!
Told ya' ~it's a loooong...journey+flight home!
See you at the terminal,
still more pics to share from my airport transit in Hong Kong,
including my favorite British architect!
[a.k.a part 3!!!]
My-my-my...this is certainly a trilogy darlings!

Journey Home - Part One

Set & ready for the looooong... journey home ~yipeee!

see you again beautiful Singapore...

" Mr driver, no hurry...take your own sweet time pretty please..."
Isn't this the most beautiful highway?
Palm trees waving their goodbyes...plus, no traffic jam!

Singapore Changi Airport has been awarded the best airport in the world.
Do you know there's even a swimming pool for passengers to take a dip before their flights?

But I rather not get my hair wet!
I prefer to enjoy the beautiful orchids found in every corner of the airport terminal.
...and not forgetting all the wonderful duty free shop$ too.
BTW, the orchids are not plastic; no 'MADE IN CHINA' label can be found!

See you guys on board my flight!
[to be continued, a.k.a Part 2!!]

Chalkboard

The great thing about traveling is that everyday,
there is always something new to discover...

I was absolutely charmed by the illustration on this chalkboard!

I don't mind having it on my kitchen wall as an art piece!
Anywayyy...
stumbled upon this sweet dessert shop at the basement of ION Orchard in Singapore.
It's still rainy & wet outside, better spend my time wisely & deliciously indoor!

" Shhhhhh... Be very quiet please..."

...the spoons are sleeping

Simply adore how the hotel staffs always tuck all the utensils
neatly on the breakfast buffet table every morning~
I expect to see miniature pillows & eye blankets as well!
